Beg - Beginning
ch - Chain
sc - Single Crochet
dc - Double Crochet
sl st - Slip Stitch
sp - Space
BLO - Back Loop Only
NOTE: This afghan is worked using worsted weight yarn in the colors specified
with each project. It is made up of solid color granny squares.
General directions are as follows below. Simply crochet
the number of squares needed in the color required then assemble as
described in instructions.
SOLID COLOR GRANNY
Finished square measures
approximately 2 1/2”
Ch 4, join with a sl st to first chain
to form a ring
RND
1: Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 1, (3 dc in ring, ch 1) three times, join with sl
st to top of beg ch 3.
RND 2: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in first ch 1 sp, ch
1, 3 dc in same ch 1 sp, ch 1 (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in remaining 3 ch 1 sps,
ch 1, join with sl st to top of beg ch 3, finish off, weave in loose
ends

Needed
22 oz Bright red worsted weight yarn
22 oz Bright yellow worsted weight yarn
22 oz Royal Blue worsted weight yarn
24 oz Black worsted weight yarn
Size “G” crochet hook, or size needed for proper gauge
Tapestry needle
Total Squares Needed of Each Color
92 Royal Blue
92 Bright Red
150 Bright Yellow
191 Black
Afghan Assembly
Using tapestry needle and appropriate
color yarn and stitching through BLO, assemble afghan using the diagram
on next page for placement.:

Border
RND 1: With Black yarn join with a sl st to any
corner ch 1 sp, sc around, work 3 sc in each corner ch 1 sp, join with
sl st to first sc to join
RND 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in each sc
around, work 3 dc in each corner, join with sl st to top of beg ch 3 to
join
RND 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in each dc around, work 3
sc in each corner, join with sl st to first sc to join.
RNDS 4 & 5: Repeat RND 2 and 3 once, finish off, weave in loose ends
