“Goddess” Afghan
A beautiful, cuddly afghan
designed especially for my sister, Diana's
birthday. Thus the name of the piece after
the Roman goddess of the Hunt.
Materials & Supplies
45 oz Café worsted weight
yarn
Size “K” crochet hook
Directions:
Row 1: Ch 201, sc second ch
from hook, dc in next ch, *sc in next ch, dc in
next ch, repeat from * across, ch 1, turn (200
sts)
Row 2: *Sc in dc, dc in sc,
repeat from * across, ch 1, turn (200 sts)
Rows 3-12: Repeat Row 2
Row 13: Sc in each st
across, ch 3, turn (200 sc)
Row 14: Dc in each sc
across, ch 1, turn (200 dc)
Row 15: Sc in each dc
across, ch 1, turn (200 sc)
Rows 16-39: Repeat Row 2
Rows 40-42: Repeat Rows
13-15
Rows 43-77: Repeat Row 2
Rows 78-80: Repeat Rows
13-15
Rows 81-104: Repeat Row 2
Rows 105-107: Repeat Rows
13-15
Rows 108-119: Repeat Row 2
do not finish off at end of Row 119
Border:
Round 1: Working in ends
of Rows sc evenly along edge. 3 sc in corner.
Working in free loops of foundation chain, sc in
each loop across. 3 sc in corner. Working in
ends of Rows of edge sc evenly along edge. 3 sc
in corner. Working in top of Row 119, sc
across, join with sl st to beg sc. Ch 1, turn.
Round 2: Sc in each sc
around all four sides. Work 3 sc in each
corner. Finish off. Weave in ends.
