Flower Clutch

Materials List:
8 oz Olive Worsted Weight Yarn
Magnetic Snap
Size “G” hook

Flower Motif: (Make 6)

Ch 4, join with a sl st to first to make a ring, ch 3.

Rnd 1: 2 dc in the ring, drop hook keeping loop available.  Insert hook into top of ch 3, put loop back on hook, pull through, cluster made, ch 4, *(3 dc in the ring, drop hook keeping loop available, insert hook into first dc, put loop back on hook, pull through) cluster made, ch 4, repeat from * twice more, join with sl st to top of first cluster, ch 1

Rnd 2: Sc in same sp as joining, 3 sc in ch 4 sp, *(sc, ch 1, sc) in the top of the next cluster, 3 sc in ch 4 sp, repeat from * twice more, sc in same sp as first, ch 1, join to first sc, finish off, weave in ends.

Using tapestry needle, whip stitch six finished motifs together in a straight line.

Bag front:

Bottom:

Row 1: With right side of motif strip facing, join olive with a sl st to ch 1 sp in corner of first motif, ch 1, sc in same stitch as joining, sc 41 more sc evenly spaced along edge of motif strip, ch 1, turn (42 sc)

Row 2-3: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Row 4: Sc in each sc across, finish off, weave in loose ends.

Top:

Row 1: Working on opposite side of floral motif with right side of strip facing, join olive with a sl st to ch 1 sp in corner of first motif on this edge, ch 1, sc in same stitch as joining, sc 41 more sc evenly spaced along edge of motif strip, ch 1, turn (42 sc)

Rows 2-7: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Row 8: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, DO NOT TURN

Side:

Rnd 1:  Working in ends of rows sc evenly down the side, across the bottom and up the other side of front panel, ch 1, turn.

Rnd 2: Working in FLO, sc in each sc from Rnd 1, ch 1, turn

Rnds 3-5: Sc in each sc, ch 1, turn

Rnd 6: Sc in each sc, finish off, weave in loose ends.

Back:

Row 1: With Olive, ch 43, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn (42 sc)

Rows 2-29: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Flap:

Row 30: Working in BLO, sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Rows 31-46: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Row 47: Sc in each sc across, do not finish off.  Line up front panel sides to back between back panel rows 2-29.  Sc side and back panel together along all three sides. Finish off, weave in loose ends.  Rejoin olive to flap and work an edge of rsc along all three sides of flap.  Finish off, weave in loose ends.

I highly recommend lining this bag because of the motifs.  Attach magnetic snap as per package directions to inside of flap lining and body lining.
